R. Louise Waldrip joined the Angels in Heaven on February 22, 2016. She was born October 4, 1928 in Ballground, Georgia. She moved to the Marietta area as a child , more specifically Elizabeth. Her first employer was the Bell Bomber Plant (now known as Lockheed). Later she worked at Hodges, the local drugstore located on the Marietta Square. There she met her husband Marvin Charles Waldrip, former owner of Victory Cab and Marvin Waldrip Realty in 1947 (he preceded her in death). During their 62 years of marriage, they had two children, four grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Louise was the family matriarch. Loved ones constantly turned to her first for advice , comfort or support. She was the life of any social gathering and never met a stranger. Always providing direction in the family business of Real Estate , Home Building and Development, Louise was a wise and confident women. Her spirit and legacy lives on through the three generations she leaves behind.
Louise is survived by her two children Daughter Debbie Wood and her husband, Gene Wood, and her son Steve Waldrip; four grandchildren, Ashley Wood, Zack Wood and his wife Jaclyn Wood, Stephanie Waldrip of NY, New York and Victoria Waldrip; one great granddaughter, Charlie Ann Wood.
Graveside service will be 11 AM Thursday, February 25,2016 at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, February 24th from 6 to 8 PM at Carmichael Funeral Home, 1130 Whitlock Avenue, Marietta, GA. (770-424-4924)
