Marcia Lynn Hampton

Marcia Lynn Hampton, age 75 of Dallas, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2026. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta with Rev. Herman Hampton officiating. Burial will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery.

Marcia was born in Atlanta Georgia, and later married and moved to South Georgia, where she became a member of East Pelham Baptist Church in Pelham, Georgia. Marcia loved her family and delighted in being a homemaker. Marcia also worked at the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home.

Marcia enjoyed being with her family and friends. Going out to eat and shopping were two of her favorite pass times. Once you became a part of Marcia’s circle, you definitely felt the love, care and appreciation Marcia shared with everyone.

Marcia’s true passion was purses and butterflies! She decorated her home with beautiful colorful butterflies many of her clothes had butterflies on them.

Even on the morning of her passing, many yellow butterflies came to visit Marcia and play in the shrubbery outside of her room. So every time you see a beautiful butterfly, think of Marcia and remember a special moment.

Mrs. Hampton is preceded in death by her husband Edwin Hampton; her father Wiley H. Morris, she is survived by her mother Ramona Roper of Dallas; son Tommy Hampton (Laura) of Dewy Rose, Georgia; daughter Rachel Hampton Hiatt (Mark) of Converse, Texas; sister Barbara Faye Morris of Dallas; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until service time.
