

Mark “David” Dyer age 68 of Acworth passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025. Born in Quincy Massachusetts. He lived in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Georgia. He graduated from Robert E. Fitch high school in Groton, Ct. (1975) where he met wife of almost 50 years. Out of high school he joined the Air Force and after basic training at Lackland, he was stationed at Chanute Air Force base for training for F4 Flight simulators. In May of 1976 he was married in a small church in Stonington CT to Christine. In late May he was stationed at Moody Air Force base in Valdosta, GA. In May of 1980 he and his wife moved to Marietta, GA to start his job with Delta airlines as a simulator technician. He taught himself several programing languages, which helped him move to different jobs within Delta Airlines. In 1993 he left Delta airlines to become an independent contractor working at different companies designing and programming computer systems.
In Fall/ Winter 1999/2000 He had a 6 month contract job in Cambridge Massachusetts. It let his sons experience a true winter, with lots of snow, the history of that part of New England. In 2011 after several health issues he retired, Dave loved going on adventures with his family, especially his wife. He liked taking pictures and learning more about photography. He was a member of the motorcycle club the Ridge riders until his health problems did not allow him to ride his motorcycle. He was fond of building his own computer towers for himself and his oldest son and he participated in school activities with both the boys. He was learning about woodworking until his health problems started. Dave attended several tech classes through several computer companies and attended Southern Poly Tech in Marietta, GA.
He was proceeded in death his siblings- Elizabeth Burns and Matthew Paul Dyer “Uncle traveling Matt” and his Son Steven Charlies Dyer. Survivors include: Wife- Christine Dyer, Son- William Matthew Dyer, Stepmother Joan “Joanie” Hart Dyer, brother in law – Jay Burns and his children, (Dave’s nieces) - Mariah Burns Duke and her husband Eric , two boys Cameron and Hunter. Morgan Burns Edenfield and her husband Brent, two girls Emma and McKenzie.
A funeral service will be 11 AM on Monday, December 8, 2025 in the Chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta with Rev. Joe Buckner officiating. Burial will be in Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.
