

Born on September 1, 1936, in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, to Ben and Marie Ballard Haley, he was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. He moved to Marietta with his family in 1967 to work at Lockheed. Subsequently, he was a leading salesman for Xerox and Honeywell Corp. Upon retirement, he established his own computer business based in Marietta. In recent years, he worked at his son Bob’s music store, Classic Winds, in East Cobb.
An avid supporter of his children, Bob and Eric, and grandchildren, Emma and Claire, he could be found coaching little league baseball, participating in Y-Indian Guide activities, teaching Sunday School at Marietta First Baptist Church, and cheering at countless concerts, recitals, football games, graduations and theatre performances in which the children were involved. He and Frances were members of the Marietta High Band Booster Club for eight years, and served as club presidents for two. He and Frances, his wife of 58 years, traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Marie Haley. He is survived by his wife, Frances McDowell Haley; two sons, Robert M. Haley, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Regina Haley of Acworth, GA., Dr. John Eric Haley of Knoxville, TN and Key West, FL, and two granddaughters, Emma Celeste Haley and Claire Elizabeth Haley. He is also survived by his sister, Kay Strong, of Jasper, TN.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015, 4:00 p.m. at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home, Marietta Chapel. Visitation begins at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Burial will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park.
