Ronald “Ronnie” Huey Cates, 58 of Marietta, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Medford-Peden Funeral Home in Marietta. Pastor Grant Cole will be officiating. Burial will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta, GA. Ronnie was the owner of Cates Landscaping Co. of Marietta. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in South Georgia with his cousins. And entered several fishing tournaments with his brother Steve and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Huey Cates. Survivors include his mother, Nellie Cates of Marietta; one brother, Steve Cates of Marietta; a special Aunt Bobbie Whitley of Columbus, GA; Uncle Jimmy Whitley of Senoia, GA; great Aunt Mary Holloway of Box Springs, GA; a special cousin, Gloria Worsham of Buford, GA; and several cousins. Family will receive friends from 6-800 p.m., Friday, March 27, 2015 at the funeral home.
