

Lillie Ruth Brackett, a nurse, entrepreneur, and heart of a loving family, passed away at the age of 87 . She was a Christian lady who loved God and her family. The family is comforted knowing she now resides in Heaven with Jesus and Papa Joe.
Born on March 23, 1938 to Clara and Ruben Bennett, she was the middle child of ten. She had seven sisters and two brothers. Growing up in a bustling household taught her the resilience and compassion that would define her life's work.
She was a proud graduate of Sprayberry High School class of 1956, where she was a cheerleader, class beauty and voted most popular in her class. That is where she met Joe Ben Brackett, the love of her life. The high school sweethearts married and shared a beautiful journey of 60 years built on a foundation of unwavering friendship and devotion.
Ruths calling was found in the service to others. After obtaining her nursing degree she dedicated her career to patient care across both the public and private sectors. Prior to the development of Hospice, her entrepreneurial spirit and concern for the vulnerable led her to establish her own private nursing agency. Through her business, she became a lifeline for aging patients and families navigating complexities of transitional care, providing dignity and comfort to those who needed it most.
Beyond her professional achievements, Ruth was a woman of many interests. She was an avid reader and talented artist who captured the beauty she saw in the world. She had a restless curiosity for exploring new places, though her favorite adventures were the legendary "sister trips" she took with her siblings, Journeys filled with laughter, shared memories and the unique bond of sisters.
To her family the was the ultimate matriarch. She is survived by her three children: Kelly Ingram( Robert), Scott Brackett(Stephanie), and Chad Brackett(Marie). While many knew her as Ruth, her favorite title was "Rue", a name affectionately given to her by her four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. As "Rue" she was a constant source of love wisdom, and encouragement.
Lillie Ruth Brackett lived a life of purpose, whether she was building a business, caring for a patient, or painting a landscape. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she helped and the family that will forever cherish her memory
