

Mrs. Sara Kemp, age 94, of Smyrna, GA, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016. She is survived by her son Duane Hall; Daughter Mona Lisa Hall of Acworth, GA. She is survived by 3 grandsons; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Sara was preceded in death by her first husband Wm. Harold Hall; her daughter Karen Burnette; and her husband Hubert Kemp. She was a native of Bartow County and moved to Cobb County in 1930. Sara graduated from Acworth high school in 1940, and went on to attend the Southern College of Business. She then served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and always held her time in service close to her heart. She was a published author and penned a book titled "Dawn to Dusk". Sara was a member of the Fair Oaks United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, during that time she participated as flag bearer, was a member of the Crusaders Sunday School Class, and was treasurer of the McCay-Dorcas Circle. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 2 o'clock in the chapel of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Janice Oglesbee & Rev. William H. Sloan officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery.
