

Sara “Terri” Carter Morris, 79, of Kennesaw, GA, passed away on May 9, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Gaffney, SC, on March 6, 1944, daughter of the late H.C. and Millie Carter. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert Morris, and her two daughters, Elizabeth Morris Turnage (Aric M. Kline) and Jane Morris Dukes (Carey “Bubba” Dukes). She is also survived by her sister, Jane Carter Duvall, and her brother Charles Joseph “Joe” Carter, many nieces, and nephews, as well as her nine grandchildren: Garrett Dukes, Lydia Turnage, John Michael Turnage, Jared Turnage, Daniel Dukes, Jonathan Dukes, Sophie Dukes, Ella Kline, and Cara Kline. Before retiring, Terri worked as a school secretary in Charleston, SC at Buist Academy as well as Addlestone Hebrew Academy. Terri loved her work and being surrounded by children. After retiring, Terri relocated to Kennesaw, GA to be closer to her daughters and her grandchildren. For the past 19 years, Terri has spent her days with her husband, daughters, and grandchildren. She loved traveling, spending time with her family, shopping, cooking, and eating dessert. Terri’s philosophy was “Life is too short. Eat dessert first.” A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, May 15, 2023, at Carmichael Funeral Home, 1130 Whitlock Ave., Marietta, GA, 30064. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Terri Carter Morris to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
