Virginia Luna Wolfe’s journey began on the beautiful island of St. Lucia in her hometown Rock Hall Rd in Castries. She was the fifth child born to the union of Marie and Reginald Laurent on July 16th 1953. She was loved and adored by her siblings and friends. Her loved ones had different names for her: Gini, Luna, Gigi just to name a few. Some even called her Mommy V, due to her warm, welcoming and nurturing spirit.
Virginia received her early education at Marchand RC School. Following her baptism into the Seventh Day Adventist faith, she attended the Castries Elementary SDA School and graduated from The Seventh Day Adventist Academy HS. After relocating to New York, she attended nursing school where she completed her LPN and progressed to complete her RN.
Virginia was a passionate, highly-skilled and well-respected RN for over 30 years. She worked with patients across the age span, newborns to geriatrics, and did so in a variety of healthcare settings including but not limited to the newborn nursery, schools, home health, and case management. Virginia was also an entrepreneur and philanthropist who was passionate about providing medical resources to the elderly and providing scholarships to children of her beloved island, St. Lucia.
Virginia married Mr. Lloyd E. Wolfe on July 21, 1985, and to that union Maggie and Kenyah Wolfe were born. Virginia’s greatest joy was her family and simply being a devoted mother. She loved to shop and travel the world with her husband and daughters, creating new memories and fun adventures. Virginia and Lloyd also loved hosting loved ones who came to visit and made each and every guest feel at home with their warm hugs, delicious food and tons laughter.
Virginia was light to all who got to know her. She was known to many as a “prayer warrior” as she was always willing to petition the thrown of grace on anyone’s behalf. All who knew her can attest to her spirit of benevolence, she was a “giver.” She will be deeply missed by those whom she loved and supported.
Virginia is preceded in death by her father Reginald Laurent, her mother Marie Laurent, and her sisters Lucrecia and Prisca.
She leaves to cherish her sweet memories: her husband, Lloyd E. Wolfe, her 3 daughters Margaret, Kenyah and Lea; brothers Julian, Peter and Andrew; sisters Eileen, Bernadette and Jacintha. Virginia will be lovingly remembered by her nieces: Sharon, Samantha, Danitha, Janine, Jasmine, Nyla, and Tiffany; as well as her beloved nephews: David, Arthur, Junie, Zane, Vick, BJ, Neville, Dexter, Jovan, Jamal, Petrus and Biko. She will be greatly missed by additional family members and friends who are too numerous to count.
