

William “Bill” MacInnis passed away on March 13, with his loving family by his side. Born in Buffalo, New York in 1941, Bill was the son of Helen (Urquhart) and Hugh MacInnis. Bill attended Kensington High School where he met Marilyn, his wife of 59 years. Bill graduated from Cornell University with a degree in engineering physics and was a member of Kappa Delton Rho fraternity. Major MacInnis served in the United States Air Force as a navigator and electronic warfare engineer for 20 years, earning a Master’s degree in laser optics while stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Upon retiring from the USAF, he worked at Lockheed-Martin for 30 years.
Bill is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his daughter, Kimber Allen (Steve) of Tallahassee, FL; his son, Scott MacInnis (Lisa) of Seneca, SC.; his sister, Margaret Patterson (James) of Buffalo, NY.; and his grandson, Kirby Allen of Greenville, SC. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He and his wife were members of Transfiguration Catholic Church and served in their shelter ministry for 25 years.
A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, March 19, 11:00 a.m. at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 1815 Blackwell Avenue, Marietta, 30062. In lieu of flowers a gift may be sent to the St. Vincent DePaul Society of Transfiguration Catholic Church. The Interment will be at Kennesaw Memorial Park Wednesday, March 20 at 11:00 a.m.
