
Mrs. Wilmuth E. Wood, age 93, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on Friday evening, December 27, 2013. She was born May 6, 1920, the daughter of the late Thomas M. and Olivia Hughes. She was a retired dietician, having last served as Lunch Room Supervisor at Ephesus School, and was a member of the Veal Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Rufus B. Wood, Sr.; four brothers and four sisters. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Rufus B. Wood, Jr. and wife, Carol, of Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Faye W. Reed and husband, Robert, of Bowdon; sisters: Jeanette Gayton of Alpharetta and Dorothy Thompson of Cumming; four grandchildren: Melissa Moore, Victor S.Reed, Brent Wood and Dawn Scharnhorst; three great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 30, 2013 from Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta with Bro. Brian Smith officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as honorary pallbearers: Victor S. Reed, Tommy Moore, Brent Wood, and Wiley Scharnhorst.
