Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, July13th at Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. The family will receive friends 1-1:55 AM Thursday prior to the funeral service.
Winnie was preceded in death by her parents Effie Mae and Leon Matthew Clements, her sister Caroline Clements Rael, and her husband of 56 years Paul S. Begin. Winnie is survived by her daughters Nancy and husband Dr. Donald Taylor, Dr. Eileen Begin and husband Fred Anastopulos, Susan Haussner and husband Walter, and her son Brad Begin. Winnie is also survived by her grandchildren, Dr. Donald Taylor II and wife Jessica, Erin Taylor, Mattie Anastopulos, Sean Anastopulos, Amber Peterson and husband Danny, and Carrie McEachin and husband Graham. She is also survived by great grandchildren Clara Taylor, Andrew and Luke Peterson, Easton McEachin, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Winnie was born December 4, 1931 in Jesup, Georgia. She graduated at age 16 from Wayne County High School and attended Wesleyan College in Macon where she earned a BFA Degree in Fashion Design in 1952. While in college she met her husband Paul at a college dance who was in the Air Force in Warner Robbins, Ga. They were married 1952 in Jesup, Georgia and moved to Atlanta, Smyrna, and eventually Marietta in 1961 where they remained for the rest of their lives. Winnie was a dedicated wife and homemaker raising her four children. Her passion was flowers and she was a long time member of the Four
Seasons Garden Club. Winnie also loved volunteering for 43 years on a Cardiology unit at Kennestone Hospital. She was a Past President of the Atlanta Power Squadron and a member of the North GA Emmaus Community attending Face to Face #8. She enjoyed traveling, genealogy,
and visiting with all of her family who will greatly miss her.
