Jody Crank Kenny, 54, entered into rest on Saturday, July 11, 2020.

Jody was born in Louisville, Kentucky on May 6, 1966. As a young child and daughter of a career soldier she traveled throughout Europe and the US. Her family eventually settled in Hephzibah, Georgia where she attended A. R. Johnson Health Science and Engineering Magnet School and graduated with honors from MCG School of Nursing. Jody was a caring nurse for MCG-AU Health for over 30 years and worked in multiple areas to include the ICU, Nurse Recruitment, and the Adult Vascular Access team.

Jody cherished her family and pets. Her greatest joy was the birth of her daughter Alexis and raising her to be a strong and independent woman. Jody loved going to the beach, gardening and spending time with her beloved pets Gigi and Bella.

Jody is preceded in death by her father, Howard “Bernie” Crank. She is survived by her daughter, Alexis Kenny (Ashton); mother, Charlene Crank; sister, Wendy Crank; nephew, Logan; and niece, Skylar, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Memorial Service to celebrate Jody’s life will be held at Harvest Pointe Fellowship on 326 N. Belair Road, Evans, GA 30809 at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2020. To the Crank family, it saddens me to hear of your loss. I pray that God will keep holding you in His arms as you tread though this time of sorrow. A special thought go out to Charlene (sweet person)I am a mother, I know how it feels to lose a child, I've experienced it. I pray that God continues to walk beside you and if you feel as if He isn't, it is then, that He is carrying you in His loving arms. Rest in peace Jody.

Dear Alexis,
I was so saddened to hear that Jody had passed. I was very fortunate to have recruited her to be the first nurse in our pulmonary hypertension program which must be over 20 years ago and I think you were about 2 or 3 years old! She was smarter than most of the resident doctors and an awesome patient advocate. The patients loved her and she loved them back. In large part due to her, our program flourished over the years. When she left after about 10 years I was heartbroken, but I know that she had other things to do. I feel lucky to have known and worked with her, and was very fortunate that I ran into her the week before she passed and we chatted in the hall for a few minutes - she was still very full of life! My deepest condolences and best wishes for the future.

Worked with your mama about twenty years ago in MICU but saw her through her jobs she held. She was a compassionate, loving Christian woman. I remember when she worked in micu; you, Alexis, are the same age of my daughter and we would share stories. She was sooo proud of you. Saw her a few weeks ago and she was again praising you for the daughter you are. She loved you deeply as you are aware. She praised you to others all the time. I will miss your Mama. She was a good nurse and good friend. There are many who loved her as I have. My prayers are with you sweetheart.

You were such a beautiful soul... When we came to your Dad's service that was the first time I really ever sat and spoke with you for a long time. I heard about you all through my years growing up. But living in Ohio wasn't around you often. But in the short time I have been with you I knew you had a heart of gold. I know your Dad welcomed you in Heaven with a huge hug and smile. Prayers to Alexis, Charlene and Wendy... I love you all!

Alexis, we're so sorry to hear about your mother. We didn't hear about it until now, so we couldn't make it to the service. We didn't even know she was sick. So sorry. We were good friends when you were very little. Our best memory is all of us going to White Water and Disney World together. Jody was always full of life, happy and made any trip like that a lot of fun. We grieve for your loss, and we wish you peace and many happy memories.
