Alfred Scales Wyllie III

Alfred Scales Wyllie, III, 71, of Apex, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016. He was born April 14, 1945 in Roanoke, Virginia to Alfred Scales Wyllie, Jr. and Anne Hawkins Wyllie. Mr. Wyllie was a 1962 graduate of Martinsville High School and went on to be a Cadet at Virginia Tech University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree. While serving in the United States Air Force in Utah he earned a Master’s Degree. He later returned to North Carolina where he earned a second Master’s Degree from Duke University. After an early retirement from IBM he continued to work in his field at Tecklet and Bell South in Atlanta. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Martinsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved aunt, Hazel Jackson.

He is survived by his spouse of 40 years, David C. Hearn; brother, John Noble Wyllie; family member Kenneth Warren, and several cousins.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2015, at 11 AM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Martinsville Chapel with interment to follow at 3 PM at Green Hill Cemetery in Danville.
