In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Percy Hammock and her brother Don McDaniel.
She is survived by daughters, June A. Rigney and Debra H. Hastings; sons, Percy L. Hammock and W. Allen Hammock; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild; and one brother, Don McDaniel.
Annie was very devoted family woman who deeply loved her family and thoroughly enjoyed cooking for them. She had a passion for the outdoors, spending much of her time tending to her flowers, working in her garden, and keeping her yard beautifully manicured. Blesses with a true green thumb, she could grow absolutely anything. She also enjoyed feeding the birds and going to town to shop.
In addition to her love for gardening, Annie was an exceptionally crafty and skilled seamstress. She was excellent at sewing and used her talents to create a wide variety of items, including beautiful curtains and scarves. In her free time, she found great joy in listening to gospel bluegrass music.
Once Annie gave her heart to the Lord she served him for 44 years at Swansonville Pentecostal Holiness Church. She retired from Dan River Mills where she first went to work as a weaver and retired as an inspector in the Home Fashions Department after 33 years of service.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at McKee-Stone Funeral Home located at 109 Broad Street, in Martinsville, Va. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at McKee-Stone Funeral Home and will be officiated by her son-in-law, Reverend John Rigney. Interment will follow in the Highland Burial Park Cemetery in Danville, Va.
