Carolyn Rigney Hodnett

Carolyn Rigney Hodnett, 76, of Martinsville, Va. passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023. She was born December 21, 1946 in Danville, Va. to the late James Carlton Rigney and Elizabeth “Pat” Grimes Rigney.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gerald Edward Hodnett; son, James Edward Hodnett (Cameron) of Cornelius, NC; daughter, Christy Setliff of Whitsett, NC.; four granddaughters, Baileigh and Loryn Hodnett, Gracie and Kenzie Setliff; sisters, Sherry Trull (J.W.) and Susan Gauldin (Ray); numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Carolyn graduated from Drewry Mason High School and was a member of Stanleytown Amazing Grace Baptist Church. She worked as a dental assistant for over 45 years, working most of her career for Dr. Marvin Midkiff.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at McKee-Stone Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am and will be officiated by Reverend Dr. Greg Hodges. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
