

Cecil Morris Carter, 85, of Martinsville, Virginia, died Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Martinsville, Virginia on December 9, 1929 to Clay Morris Carter and Gracie R. Carter. Cecil served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War attaining the rank of Corporal, he was retired from Sara Lee where he was a purchaser and mechanic with over 45 years of service, he was a member of Grace Baptist Church, a member of Ridgeway Sportsmens Club and he enjoyed woodworking, making home movies, gardening and watching old movies.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Callie C. Carter of the home, son, Denzil M. Carter of Ridgeway and brother, William “Doyle” Carter of Axton.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 10, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home-Martinsville Chapel.
The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Wingate officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park with Military Honors.
