Charles Melvin White, 91, of Axton, VA died 3/9/2023. He was born in Rockingham County, NC. March 26, 1931, to Edward N. White and Helen Claybrook White.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wives, Dorothy Holman White and Bernice Warren White; and his daughter Katherine.
He is survived by his sons, Thomas and wife Mary Eileen, James and wife Diana, and Daniel; sisters, Virginia Levi, Florence Disbrow, Emilie Wooldridge; brother Scott White; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Charles graduated from Spencer Penn High School. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant through ROTC at VA Tech in 1952. He retired from the US Army with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
He was a member of the McCabe Memorial Baptist Church. He worked for Menasha Corporation for over 25 years and retired as plant manager.
A Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at McCabe Memorial Baptist Church and will be officiated by Rev. Dr. G.H. Vaughn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to McCabe Memorial Baptist Church, 107 Clearview Drive, Martinsville, VA 24112.
