Darius R. White

Darius R. White, 72, of Fieldale, passed away Friday, September 13, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Mercer County West Virginia, June 14, 1941 to Ophir and Hazel Riggs White, both deceased. Darius was self-employed with White’s Home Improvement and was a member of Hill Memorial Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Gilley White; two sisters, Phyllis Jean White and Doris Louise White and one brother, Jerry Wayne White.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Doss White of the residence; one daughter, Bonita W. Young and husband, Greg of Cary, NC; two sons, Allan White and wife, Natalie of Rocky Mount, Randall White and wife, Teresa of Martinsville; one step-daughter, Denice Lynn Hodges and husband, Andy of Fieldale; one step-son, Brad Doss and wife Tammy of Bassett; one sister, Brenda W. Ford of Martinsville; four brothers, Bobby, Michael and Stewart White, all of Axton and Mark Allen White of West VA.; ten grandchildren, Hannah and Andrew Young, Sarah White, Justin Prillaman, Terrell Craddock and wife, Lauren, Jason White and wife, Kimberly, Christopher White, Kaitlyn Doss, Josh Doss and Megan Hodges; two great-grandchildren, Willow White and Ethan Prillaman.

The funeral service will be held Monday, September 16, 2013 at 11 AM at Hill Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Moss officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. Pallbearers will be Jamie White, David White, Charles White, Jerry White, Andy Hodges, Donald Via, Barry Hollandsworth and Chad Ford.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville.
