David Lee Elkins

David Lee Elkins, 65, of Martinsville passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019. He was born September 10, 1953 in High Point, NC. to the late George Guyer Elkins and Nancy Virginia Dixon Elkins.
He is survived by his wife, Laura J. Elkins; daughters, Sarah Klingman and husband Justin of Holly Springs, NC and Melissa Coleman and husband Jamie of Fairfax, VA; sister, Polly Rosenstein and husband Dan; brother, Buck Elkins and wife Shelley; grandchildren, Lily, Harrison and Evelyn Klingman; two nieces and two nephews.
Mr. Elkins was a member of First United Methodist Church and taught the Open Arms Sunday School class for over 25 years. He was a graduate of High Point University and was owner/operator of the Carpet Shoppe in Martinsville.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on April 22, 2019 at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Keith Ritchie officiating.

David and I were best of friends in High School. We hung out together, went to parties together, and played in a band together. David was a wonderful person, a kind and gentle soul who will be missed by anyone who knew him or interacted with him.
