Donald Grey Haley

Donald Grey Haley, 77, of Axton, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Henry County, September 27, 1938 to Richard Aubrey Haley and Virginia Martin Haley, both deceased. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and retired from Stone Container Company. He was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church where he served as Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher, Deacon, and also sung in the choir. Donald was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, Martinsville/Danville Region.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Soots Haley; children, Lisa H. Clowers and husband, Mike; Donnie R. Haley and wife Kim; four sisters, Brooks Motley, Shirley Hankins, Elaine Wilson and JoAnne Earles; two brothers, Richard A. Haley, Jr. and Barry Haley grandchildren, Nikki, Kasi, Amanda, Leighia, Macie, Ryan, Grayson, Josh, Ben, Tyler and Jeremy; great-grandchildren, Kaydence and Karianna.

The family will receive friends Monday, August 8, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville and other times at the home.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at McKee-Stone Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Redd officiating. Interment will follow in the Haley Family Cemetery in Axton.
