Doris Ramsey Spicer

Doris Ramsey Spicer, 89, of Martinsville, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Golden Living Center. She was born in Henry County, June 21, 1924 to Elijah Gardner Ramsey and Lucy Jamison Ramsey. Prior to her retirement, Doris was self-employed as a Beautician. She was a member of Broad Street Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Spicer; one sister, Lucille R. Boaz and one brother, Gardner Ramsey.

Surviving are two sons, Woody Turner and wife, Jo, of Ridgeway, Bill Turner and wife, Donna of Huntersville, NC; one brother, Willie Lee Ramsey of Ridgeway; two grandchildren, Amy Reed and Kari Turner; one great-grandson, Sawyer Reed.

The funeral service will be held Monday, February 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville with the Rev. Clint Spivey officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.

Memorials may be made to Broad Street Christian Church, 106 Broad Street, Martinsville, VA 24112.

A private interment will be held at Roselawn Burial Park.
