

Dwight Allen Stultz, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away June 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a life defined by faith, hard work, devotion to family, and service to the community.
He was born in Martinsville, Virginia, December 11, 1944, to the late Herbert and Ruby Stultz. Dwight was also preceded in death by his son, Chris Stultz, and his brother, Charles Stultz.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 49 years, Anne Stultz. He is survived by his son, John Stultz (Vikeesa) of Forest, Virginia; daughters Stephanie Sherrill (Brandon) of Martinsville, Virginia, Heather Cox (Drew) of Summerfield, North Carolina, and Ashleigh French (Aaron) of Blacksburg, Virginia.
He was a proud grandfather to Adelaide French, Molly Sherrill, Sarah Stultz, Olivia Stultz (Noah), Megan Grimes (Ryan), and Ryan Harding. He was also blessed with five great-grandchildren. Dwight is further survived by his sister, Teresa Doss (Robin) of Winchester, Virginia; sister-in-law, Gayle Anderson (Andy) of Bassett, Virginia; two nieces, one nephew, three great nieces, and numerous cousins and friends.
A 1963 graduate of Bassett High School, Dwight dedicated 54 years of life to the car business. He served as President of the Blue Ridge Automobile Dealers Association, was co-owner of Patrick Henry Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge-Buick, and later owner of City Auto Center. He loved car racing and on Sunday afternoons was found watching NASCAR races. He owned a race car for years and won many championships. Throughout his career, he built a reputation for integrity, hard work, and treating people with fairness and respect. His greatest loves were God, family, and cars.
His faith was the foundation of everything he did. He was a faithful member of Starling Avenue Baptist Church for 49 years, where he served as a deacon, trustee, and member of numerous committees. He lived out his faith not only through service to his church but through kindness, generosity, and encouragement he showed others every day.
Above all, Dwight was devoted to his family, He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose wisdom, steady presence, and unwavering support touched generations. His family will remember his work ethic, his sense of humor, his guidance, and the example he set through a life of faith and dedication.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for the compassion, support, and care they provided during Dwight’s final days.

Though he will be deeply missed, Dwight’s legacy of faith, family, service, and love will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know him.
A memorial service celebrating Dwight’s life will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Starling Avenue Baptist Church. Visitation with the family will begin at 2:00 pm, followed by the service at 3:00 pm. A private family burial with take place later.
