I met Gary (aka: Perky) when I first started with DuPont in "79". We would all try to finish our assigned jobs in 4/5 hours of an 8 hours shift. Not "Perky", he knew things that we didn't. He would finish in 7 hours. We rode him hard, but he never lost his cool. Always had his temperament on a level plane. Good Guy! RIP.

I knew Perky most of my life & he was always a kind genuine gentleman. He bought his first house from my Dad on Jefferson & I visited him often. Rest in peace my friend.

I am stunned and saddened to hear of the passing of my good friend. I've known Gary Douglas for approximately 33 years. In all those years I have nothing but fond memories of the times that I shared with Gary. He had many friends and he made friends easily. We nicknamed him "perky". It was a term of endearment. I will miss Gary Douglas. R.I.P. Old friend.

As a child, I spent several evenings with Gary and his mother Aunt Margaret. I always felt welcome in their home. It was there I had my first taste of Tab cola, Aunt Margaret's staple, and I spent many hours with Gary reading his Mad Magazines and laughing with him about the political and product parodies. Gary and Margaret were very well read and we often spent time talking about science. I was always impressed with the breadth of the topics, and the great questions posed by Gary and Margaret. I truly enjoyed spending time with them. My father, Alan Stadler, often commented on how self smart his sister was, self educated in many areas.
