Henry Clayton Stone

Henry Clayton Stone, 75, of Collinsville, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016. He was born in Henry County on January 30, 1941 to Linwood Anderson Stone, Sr. and Grace Marshall Stone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Taylor Stone and Gene's wife, Carolyn; and niece, Deborah Jean Stone.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandra Davis Stone; brother, Linwood Anderson Stone, Jr. (Nancy); nieces, Kathy Stone Vernon (Dennis), Cheryl Stone Merriman (Tim), Beth Stone, Gail Stone Bower (Joe); great nieces and nephews, Jessica Vernon Brooks (Michael), Sarah Vernon Nemeth (Joe), Linwood Clay Merriman, Kayleigh Grace Baliles, Joseph Landon Nemeth, Cameron Merriman Cooper (Kiah), Cody Merriman, Mike Vernon (Rebecca), Rebecca Vernon, Michael Vernon and Samuel Vernon.

Mr. Stone retired from Virginia-Carolina Freight Lines as credit manager.

He served in the Virginia National Guard during the Vietnam Era and was a former member of the Collinsville Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed watching and traveling to NASCAR races.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at McKee-Stone Funeral Home Chapel and will be officiated by Minister Lawrence Harris and Pastor Kameron Wilds. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Roselawn Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Martinsville Henry County SPCA, 132 Joseph Martin Highway, Martinsville VA. 24112.
