James Howard “Jay” Eller, Jr., 78, of Martinsville, VA, died on Monday, June 8, 2015 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville & Henry County. He was born on May 12, 1937 to James Howard Eller, Sr. and Myrtle Durham Eller. James worked as truck driver at Virginia Carolina Trucking Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Eller and Ruby Harrell and his brother, Murray “Ham” Eller.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Esther Grogan Eller of the home, his daughter, Elizabeth “Liz” Eller Secrest and husband Chad of Ridgeway, VA, his son, James Howard “Trip” Eller, III and wife Tamara of Concord, NC, and his brother, Edward Eller and wife Clovis of Martinsville, VA and four grandchildren, Lilly and Atticus Secrest and Cassie and Emily Peele.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home.
The Graveside Service will be held Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Roselawn Burial Park with Dr. David Adkins officiating.
