Jonas Anthony Farrar

Jonas Anthony Farrar, 28, of Martinsville, died Sunday, March 24, 2013 in Guilford County, NC. He was born in Charlottesville, VA on October 28, 1984 to William Anthony (Tony) Farrar of Danbury, NC and Peggy Martin Farrar of Martinsville. He graduated from South Stokes High School in Walnut Cove, NC and also attended Patrick Henry Community College. Jonas was employed by Commonwealth Laminating and Pigs R Us in Martinsville. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Walnut Cove.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John G. Martin, Jr. and his paternal grandparents, David L. and Hallie Louise Farrar.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his step-mother, Sandra Farrar of Danbury, NC; one sister, Katelyn F. Rogers and husband, Zachery of Charlotte, NC; one step-sister, Ashley Weitzel and husband, Matt of Lexington, NC; his maternal grandmother, Mamie Love Martin of Danville; 5 uncles, 5 aunts and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 2:00 PM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service and other times at the home of his mother, 305 Oakdale Street in Martinsville.

Burial at First Baptist Church Cemetery in Walnut Cove, NC will be held at a later date.
