

Judson Nathaniel Eggleston, 81, of Martinsville, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at his home. He was born in Henry County, November 19, 1932 to Dorsey Minter Eggleston and Emma Vera Clore Eggleston. He was a graduate of Axton High School and had a great passion for farming which he did most of his life. He also retired from DuPont with over 30 years of service. Jud was a charter member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where he served on the Property Committee. He was also a member of Southern States Cooperative. Jud was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a man of great wisdom and was admired by many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayland and Carl Eggleston.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Carolyn Morton Eggleston of the home; two daughters, Carolyn Nacole Stegall and husband Chris of Penhook, and Morgan Leigh Eggleston of the home; three sons, Jason Nathaniel Eggleston and wife Adrienne of Amherst, Brandon James Eggleston and wife Tabitha, Judson Mackenzie Eggleston and wife Melanie all of Axton; four grandchildren, Abigail Eggleston, Jaice Stegall, Jase Eggleston and Nathaniel Eggleston; one brother, James Clore Eggleston and wife Mariette of Richmond and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville and other times at the home.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Lynn Bechdolt officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
