In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by all of his siblings; brother Asa Duncan and sisters, Ethel Viers, Roxie Martin, Inez Vaught, Danie Mannon and Eula Farmer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Janice Bess Duncan; sons, Earl Duncan (Paula) and Elden Duncan; grandchildren, Tiffany Duncan, Elaina Richardson (John), Julie Anna Stahlman (Caleb), Aaron Duncan (Alayna), and Evan Duncan; great grandchildren, Eden and Marlowe Duncan. Lawrence was very proud of his family and really enjoyed the times he got to spend with them.
Lawrence and Janice were faithful members of Temple Baptist Church. He loved watching NASCAR races and bluegrass music. Lawrence was an extremely hard worker and was employed as a truck driver for National Homes for nearly 28 years and later worked as a security guard for American Standard Homes.
Lawrence proudly served his country in the United States Army and he was especially proud of Earl and Elden's service in the United States Marine Corps. He loved his country and was a very patriotic man.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Henry Memorial Burial Park and will be officiated by Pastor Don Reynolds.
