Lorraine Wade Grant

Lorraine Wade Grant, 92, of Martinsville, died Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville where she was a resident. She was born in Henry County, February 16, 1920, the daughter of Charles D. and Emma Lea Richardson Wade. She was retired from DuPont where she was employed for 21 years. She was a member of Fuller Memorial Baptist Church for 66 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James N. Grant; her daughter, Edna Carol Grant Scearce; six sisters, Mildred Spencer, Ruby Wyatt, Mae Joyce, Daisy Wade, Velma LaPrade and Doris Wade; four brothers, Clyde Wade, Paul Wade, H.C. Wade and Harvey Wade.

She is survived by one son, James L. Grant of Martinsville; one sister, Bertha Wall of Martinsville and one brother, Charles C. Wade of Myrtle Beach, SC.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, one step-great-granddaughter and two step-great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville with the Rev. Fred W. Hardin and the Rev. Francis Martin officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville.
