

Louise DeHart Hatcher of Fieldale went to be with our Lord and Savior on February 27, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. Louise was born in Stuart, VA on October 19, 1936 to the late Henry and Lillian DeHart.
Louise is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Cecil Hatcher of the home, her three sons and their wives, Michael and Kathy Hatcher of Martinsville, Mark and Becky Hatcher of Simpsonville SC, and Daryl and Katherine Hatcher of Fieldale; Grandchildren, Melissa Hatcher of Martinsville, Brandon and Amanda Hatcher of Ridgeway, David and Briana Hatcher of Greenville SC, Michelle and Kevin Baylson of Fountain Inn SC, Jennifer Strom of Richmond VA, Peter Strom of Bury St. Edmunds England, and Allyson and Josh Scott of Vinton, VA. In addition, she is survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her daughter Cecilia Diane Hatcher and Louise’s siblings, Clarence DeHart and Shirley Smith.
Louise graduated from Fieldale High School and was employed as a production manager for Standard Garments, and as an accountant for Mitchell-Howell Ford and Bryant’s Plumbing and Heating. She also worked as the secretary for Fieldale Baptist Church. Louise received numerous awards and accounting achievements from the Ford Motor Company during her years of service with the company.
Louise was a member of the Fieldale Baptist Church where she worked as a Deaconess and cherished her work serving as leader of the Church Youth Group for years, where she and Cecil inspired the teens of the Church to become positive influences through Christ in the local communities and across the nation.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016 at Fieldale Baptist Church from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Fieldale Baptist Church with Pastor Alan Jackson officiating. Burial will be at Henry Memorial Park in Bassett, VA.
