Lucille Ramsey Boaz
July 24, 1922 – July 10, 2010

Lucille Ramsey Boaz, 87, of Martinsville, died Saturday, July 10, 2010 at her residence. She was born in the Mountain Valley section of Henry County on July 24, 1922, to Elijah Gardner Ramsey and Lucy Jamison Ramsey. She was a long-time member of Broad Street Christian Church. Prior to her retirement, she was bookkeeper for her late husband at Boaz Motor Company and Broadview Texaco. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Local Post of VFW.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert A. Boaz, Sr. and a brother, Elijah Gardner Ramsey, Jr.
She is survived by her son, H. Allen Boaz, Jr. and his wife, Katherine Hooker Boaz of Montvale, VA; grandson, Jamison Martin Boaz of Van Nuys, CA; one step-granddaughter, Katie Garrett of Portland, OR; two step-grandsons, Phil Garrett of Martinsville and Pres Garrett of Columbia, SC; two step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris R. Spicer of Martinsville and one brother, Willie Lee Ramsey of Martinsville.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 11:00 am at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Homes, Martinsville Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Joe Grubbs and the Rev. Dr. Jim Dickerson officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 12th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the funeral home.
