Mary Agnes Cooper

Mary Agnes Cooper, 75, of Calabash, N.C. passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017. She was born in Roanoke, Va., May 24, 1942 to the late Charles Ray Patterson and the late Eva Frances Belcher Patterson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Patterson.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years Thomas Benjamin Cooper; sons Benjamin Ray Cooper of Riceville, Tenn., Michael Todd Cooper of Kotzebue, Alaska; and daughter Carolyn Sue Cooper Coghlan and her husband Dennis Charles Coghlan of Wayne, N.J. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Audrey Lyn Cooper, Lauren Ashley Stetser, Benjamin Charles Coghlan; and three great-grandchildren Addie, Emmie and Tommy Stetser. Brothers Buddy Patterson of North Carolina and Norris Patterson of Snow Creek, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church of Calabash, N.C. She enjoyed landscaping and her flowers. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always put everyone else first. She will be greatly missed.
Family will receive friends Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, 109 Broad St., Martinsville. Funeral Services will be Friday 10 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Dodd Mays. Burial to follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
