Mattie Ellen Kendrick Earles, 84, of Critz, died Friday, August 17, 2012 at Northern Surry Hospital in Mount Airy, NC. She was born in Patrick County, June 27, 1928 to Grover and Lou Harris Kendrick. She worked for Bassett-Walker Knitting Company for several years and retired from the maintenance department of Hardin Reynolds Memorial School in Critz. She was a member of Critz Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall L. Earles and four brothers, Johnnie, Everett, James and Raymond Kendrick.
Mattie is survived by one sister, Sallie Mae Kendrick Mitchell of Eden, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday, August 20, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Critz Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Hackler and the Rev. Billy Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Critz Baptist Church.
