Michael Anthony Harmon

Michael Anthony “Mickey” Harmon, 68, of Martinsville, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 at Blue Ridge Rehab Center where he was a resident. He was born in Martinsville, November 22, 1945 to William Johnson Harmon and Nettie Mae Shivley Harmon. Mickey was a member of First Baptist Church of Martinsville and the Placid Mitchell Sunday School Class.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Junior Harmon and Kyle Robert Harmon.

Surviving are two sisters, Helen H. Dandridge of Martinsville and Inez H. Buffington of Appleton, Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Martinsville with the Rev. John T. Fulcher and Dr. Dennis W. Knight officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 23 Starling Avenue, Martinsville, VA 24112.
