Obituary of Mildred Buck
Mildred “Mickey” Thomas Simmons Buck, 72, of Martinsville passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019. She was born in Henry County on April 8, 1947 to John Thomas Simmons and Lady Hall Simmons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ann Hoffler and brother, John Booker Simmons. She is survived by her husband Joseph Neal Buck, Sr.; son Joseph N. Buck, Jr.; daughter Elizabeth Kay Buck; grandchildren, Ashleigh, Olivia, Gabriel, Joe, Nicholas and Jacob; sisters, Kay Dishmon and husband Kit, Mary Willis and foster sister, Nancy Inman. Mickey was the owner and operator of Beauti Lounge. She loved fishing, cooking, gardening and sports. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Chatham Heights Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Hatfield officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Roselawn Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chatham Heights Baptist Church, 1235 Old Chatham Road, Martinsville, VA 24112 or the Martinsville Henry County SPCA, 132 Joseph Martin Hwy, Martinsville, VA 24112.
