

She was born February 23, 1932 in Henry County, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert G. Haynes and Ruby Jarrett Haynes Bray; her step-father, Ed Bray; her husband of 50 years, Ewell Clinton Donavant; a son, Jerry Donavant; three infant children; and a brother, Billy Haynes.
She retired from Kroger as a cashier and had also been employed by Food Lion. She was a member of The American Federal Police Association and of Hill Memorial Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law,Patsy and Tim Chitwood of Collinsville; four sisters, Linda McCrickard of Ridgeway, Barbara Shelton of Bassett, Louise Adams of Bassett and Peggy Saunders of Collinsville; a brother, David Haynes of Ridgeway; two grandchildren, Matt and Andrew Chitwood; special in laws and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Martinsville.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 29, 2010 at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Martinsville with Rev. Bill Moss and Rev. Gary Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Mayo Christian Church Cemetery.
