Norma Pulliam Covington

Norma Pulliam Covington of Martinsville, Va., passed away July 2, 2016, at home surrounded by family. She was the wife of Judge Kenneth M. Covington, and was born July 1, 1934, to Madge Arnold Pulliam and Joseph Benjamin Pulliam, deceased.

Survivors are daughters Kim C. Darnell (David) of Anna Maria Island, Fla., Patti Covington of Martinsville, Va., and Jane R. Covington (Crane Jones) of Brentwood, Tenn.; sons John R. Covington (Wendy) and Benjamin C. Covington of Ridgeway, Va.; grandchildren David Darnell, Jr., Anne Marshall (John), and J.R. Covington, Jr.; and great grandson Hudson Darnell. Also surviving is a brother, J.C. Pulliam (Janice) of Burlington, N.C.

Mrs. Covington was a longtime member of Broad Street Christian Church and was also a member of the Garden Study Club and The Martinsville Literary Club. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, at Broad Street Christian Church. There will be a graveside service on Friday, July 8, at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery with Reverend William Oliver and Reverend Richard Harrison officiating.
