Bossie was my grandpa Harry Barker Sr's brother. I have loved this man ever since I can remember. He gave me a red child's rocking chair when I was 5. He was very loved and will be truly missed. Prayers for our family.

Family and friends, you have my deepest sympathy. Mr. Barker would stop at our yard sale after he had been to the flea market. He was always smiling and we loved talking to him. May God give you peace.

PRAYERS for Family and Friends. Bossie was my uncle, he was married to my Moms sister. I remember him and my Dad years ago playing cards on Friday and Saturday night. He would always give us things out of his garden. He was always making jokes and laughing!
So sorry, 😥🙏🏽🙏🏽⚘

Uncle Oscar “Bossie” Barker was my mother’s brother. Mom (Anna Virginia Barker Whitehead) was the first born child (August 25,1924) of Oscar and Elsie Barker, and Uncle Bossie was the first born son. As the eldest daughter and son, they had the difficult jobs of caring for their nine younger brothers and sisters while Grandpa and Grandma worked in the tobacco fields. Mom used to say that she would have gladly worked in the fields! She grew tired of changing diapers and feeding all those mouths when she was just a child herself! Times were hard back then! But she and Uncle Bossie had a lifelong bond that was never broken. Mom passed away at age 93 in 2017. Thank you for sharing this memory with family and friends.
