Patricia Testerman Hedrick, 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Martinsville, Virginia, on August 5, 2026. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend. Her presence will be deeply missed.
Patricia was born in Arlington, Virginia on August 12, 1952, to Edward and Dorothy Testerman. She moved to Martinsville in 1973 where she dedicated her life to raising her children and step-children. She loved and worshiped her Lord and Savior at Hillcrest Baptist Church from 1990.
Known as “Nanny” to her grandchildren and “Mama Pat” to various friends and neighbors, Patricia will be remembered for her nurturing heart and dedication to the Lord. In addition to raising her children at home, she had a green thumb that could revive any flower, a knack for capturing any pet’s affection, and an adoration for spreading the Word in the Wee Kids Ministry at church. Her gentle touch and infectious smile touched and brightened the lives of all who knew her.
Patricia is predeceased by her parents, Edward Lee Testerman, Sr. and Dorothy Stanton Testerman; daughter, Dorothy Jean Hedrick; stepson, Robert Vincent Hedrick; sister Mary Testerman White; brothers, James Thomas Testerman and Edward Lee Testerman, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter Melissa Ann Barker (Scott) and son William Parker Hedrick (Christine); grandchildren, Caitlin Grace Barker, Emma Danielle Hedrick and Ellie Grace Hedrick; stepsons, Charles Daniel Hedrick, Jr., Daniel Ray Hedrick and Terry Wayne Hedrick; stepdaughters, Laura Kay Plott and Tammy Dalton; sister Doris Testerman Farney; brothers, John Robert Testerman and William Wilson Testerman; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren
A visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at McKee-Stone Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am and will be officiated by Pastors Doug Ramsey and Tim Harville. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
