Philip Thomas Lester

Philip Thomas Lester, 67, of Ridgeway, VA died Friday, August 4, 2017 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville, VA. He was born on December 24, 1949 in Henry County, VA to the late Thomas Lawson Lester and Jewel Carmichael Lester. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Elizabeth Wood Lester; daughter, Lori Lester Suarez and husband Jon of Greensboro, NC; son, David Thomas Lester of Atlanta, GA; sister, Patti Lester Gross and husband George of Wirtz, VA; and grandson, James Oliver Suarez. Philip was a graduate of Franklin County High School and Virginia Tech. Before retiring, he operated Leisure Land and Timber in Stoneville, NC with his father. The funeral will be held Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville with Rev. Tim Satterfield officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway. Memorials may be made to Ridgeway United Methodist Church, P.O.
