Phyllis Diane Whitlow Clifton

Phyllis “Diane” Whitlow Clifton, who was lovingly referred to as "Di", 73, of Ridgeway, Va. passed away, Saturday, June 6, 2026. She was born in Martinsville, Va. September 15, 1952, to Melvin Posey Whitlow and Mary Marie Gilley Whitlow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant brother, Phillip Davis Whitlow.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Paul Jackson “Jackie” Clifton; daughter Megane Savage (Shawn); son Kevin Clifton; granddaughter Ella Clifton; also, many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.

Diane retired from Valley Star Credit Union. She loved working in her flowers and taking care of animals. She especially loved shopping. She also enjoyed volunteering at Horsepasture Christian Church and helping with the Red Cross blood drives.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Horsepasture Christian Church. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Horsepasture Christian Church and will be officiated by Associate Pastor Creighton Beatty and Pastor Curt Ashley. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
