Rives Lorine Holland, 88, of Axton, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the Hospice Care Center in Burlington, NC. She was born in Axton, Virginia on January 4, 1925 to Arthur Bruce Holland and Mamie Howerton Holland. Rives was a graduate of Axton High School and Perry Business College. She was employed by Mitchell-Howell Ford in Martinsville for several years and later was a secretary for the Federal Government in Northern Virginia. She was a member of Axton Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Bruce Holland, Jr.
She is survived by one sister, Martha H. Browne and husband, Richard of Pittsboro, NC and one brother, Billy Holland and wife Joan of Cary, NC.
A graveside service will be held Friday, December 13, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Roselawn Burial Park with the Rev. Tony Lundy officiating.
Arrangements are by McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville.
