

Robert Littleton Wilson, 82, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Martinsville, April 10, 1931 to Alec Charles Wilson and Frances Harvey Wilson. He attended Roanoke College for two years and North Carolina State in Raleigh two years. He served in the Army from 1952 to 1954 at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland where he taught the mechanics of tanks at the Ordinance School. He was president and co-owner of Wilson Quarries, Concrete and Asphalt; Martinsville Finance & Investment Corporation and Indian Heritage R.V. Park. Bobby was a devoted Christian, a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was intelligent and multi-talented and taught so many young men who worked for him so many of his talents.
He leaves behind, his wife of 60 years, Patricia Scott Wilson, a daughter, Sabra Wilson Hope of Griffin, Georgia; three grandchildren, Alexander Hope of Atlanta, Georgia, Sarah Frances Hope of Smyrna, Georgia and Robert “Wilks” Hope of Oxford, Mississippi; one brother A.C. Wilson and wife, Lucy of Martinsville.
A graveside service will be held Friday, February 28, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Martinsville. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 1901 Patrick Henry Ave., Martinsville, VA 24112. Dr. Dwight Christenbury will officiate.
The family will be at the residence, 321 Jefferson Davis Drive, Chatmoss.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Jerry Jordan, Hal Prillaman, Dr. Puck Kiser, Judge Frank Greenwalt, Bill Smith, Tommy Martin, Sonny Benfield, Landon Catron, Charles Harter, Timmy Clifton and Frank Alley.
