Sallie Lou Ashburn, 78, of Axton, Virginia, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015 at her home. She was born in Fieldale, Virginia on July 6, 1937 to Everette Albright McCollum and Fannie Bell McCollum. Sallie was retired from the Telephone Company in Roanoke, VA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin G. Ashburn and her brother, William D. “Mike” McCollum.
She is survived by her son, Bobby D. Ashburn and wife, Susan of Fayetteville, NC and two sisters, Eunice Gwendolyn Wingfield of Martinsville, VA and Karen Lynn McCollum of Reidsville, NC.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Martinsville Chapel.
A Graveside Service will be held Friday, August 28, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg, VA. Burial will follow after the service.
