

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years Ted Young; brothers, Remus Brown Rodgers, Bascom Rodgers, Hoover Rodgers, and Beryl Rodgers; sister, Janet Rodgers Walker.
Thelma is survived by her daughter, Robin Young, many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
She graduated from Radford College and was a math teacher for most of her teaching career in the Henry County Public School System. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed traveling with her daughter. Among the many national parks and other places they visited, her favorite location was Jackson Hole Wyoming.
She loved her pets and all animals. She shared her home with her two cats, Todd and Annie.
She enjoyed listing to music and working jigsaw puzzles and was a huge fan of the Golden State Warriors. She also enjoyed watching reruns of the TV show Chicago P.D.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on January 26, 2026 at Roselawn Burial Park.
