

Virginia Hensley Isley, 98, of Martinsville, passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 at King’s Grant Retirement Community where she was a resident. She was born May 13, 1915 in Henry County to William Warren Hensley and Edna Thomasson Hensley. She was a graduate of Ridgeway High School and retired from J. C. Penny Company. She was a member of Fontaine Baptist Church in Martinsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Posey Isley; 2 daughters, Betty Lou Hairfield and Kay Brockwell; five sisters, Essie Isley, Myrtle Holt, Correlle Lovell, Alice Everhart and Mattie Pickup; five brothers, Gratton, Byron, Joseph, and Milton Hensley and William W. (Jute) Hensley, Jr.
She is survived by a son, Randolph (Ran) Isley and wife Linda of Martinsville; 2 sons-in-law, Wayne Hairfield of Fancy Gap, VA and Chester Brockwell of Altavista, VA; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, 6 Nieces and 4 Nephews.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 10 AM at Roselawn Burial Park with a memorial service at 11 AM at King’s Grant Victory Chapel with the Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. A reception will follow at King’s Grant.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
