Walter Robert (Bobby) Painter, 84, of Ridgeway, died Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Hospice of Rockingham County. He was born in Roanoke, Virginia, December 25, 1928 to Thurman Walter Painter and Della Sink Painter, both deceased.
Walter served in the Marine Corps and was retired from DuPont.
Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Helen Campbell Painter of the residence in Ridgeway.
The funeral service will be held Monday, January 7, 2013 at 2:00 PM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway with full military honors by the Martinsville Henry County Veterans Honor Guard.
