Age 75, died March 13, 2012, born July 2, 1936 to Joseph and Grace (Mondello) Sangiorgi. Alfred was a Mechanical Engineer specializing in the Aerospace and Automotive Industries and had many patents in jet engine and automotive design. He was an avid aviator and active in the EAA’s Young Eagles. He was also a Technical Advisor with the Experimental Aircraft Association. Alfred mentored hundreds of men and women throughout his lifetime, many who are now professional pilots. He was also an FAA Certified Flight Instructor. As a side business he was a Landscape Architect who beautified many homes in the area and around the country. Additionally, he was a regular speaker at Toastmaster International. Alfred was a Veteran having served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his brother Salvatore. Alfred is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lena; daughter Gina (Andrew Sokol) St. George, three sons David St. George, Gregory (Tiffany) St. George, Paul St. George, three grandchildren Zachary, Madison, Noah, two brothers Tom Sangiorgi, Frank St. George and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Journey Life Church, 2289 Cedar Street, Holt, Michigan with the Rev. Brian Henley officiating with military honors to follow. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson Street, Mason, MI and 1 hour prior to the service at the Church. Contributions in Alfred’s memory may be made to the Alfred A.
