Anna Elizabeth Demshuk

Anna Elizabeth Demshuk, age 40, of Holland passed away on August 20, 2017. Anna was born on July 3, 1977, the daughter of Thomas and Carol Demshuk. After high school, Anna attended Hope College and Eastern Michigan University where she graduated with a Master’s Degree in Social work. The passion and love Anna had for the elderly was evident in her career as a geriatric social worker. She had a special spot in her heart of gold for older people, and she truly enjoyed helping them in any way she could. She loved spending time at the beach and enjoyed all things sandy! She had an affinity for dogs, playing sports and adored her nieces and nephews. Anna will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Anna is survived by her parents, Thomas and Carol Demshuk; her loving wife, Missy Nienhuis; her siblings, Andrew (Rebecca) Demshuk, Christy Wilt, Mary Demshuk; her nephew Zachary, her in-laws Ron (Mary Jo) Nienhuis; brother in-law, Andy (Susan) Nienhuis and her nieces Skylar and Taryn, along with her extended family and many friends.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday August 25th at 11:00am at St. James Catholic Church, 1010 S. Lansing St. Mason, MI 48854. Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 24, from 5-8 p.m. with a Scripture service and sharing at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the church on Friday from 10-11 a.m., just prior to the 11:00 a.m. funeral Mass. Also, a Celebration of Life open house will be held from 4-6pm, Sunday August 27th at Ridge Point Community Church, Ren’s Café, 340 104th Ave Holland, MI 49423, with a prayer at 5pm.
